	Hole #1 Par: 4  |  Handicap: 15/11 350 332 308 308 284 240 HOLE DESCRIPTION: The golf course begins rather innocently with a short Par 4 to a landing area that is guarded on the right by a lone bunker. Shots aimed close to the hazard will find ideal positioning for the approach shot to the green. This is typical throughout the golf course. The green opens from the right, which matches the fairway bunker, and slopes from back to front with bunkers guarding the front left and back right pin positions. Bailing out off the tee; away from the fairway bunker, leaves the player with an approach over the bunkers at the green and a sloping putting surface that will kick the shot slightly which effectively narrows the target. It is best to stay right. Hole #2 Par: 5  |  Handicap: 5/3 525 510 492 492 456 348 HOLE DESCRIPTION: The shortest Par 5 on the course, this hole bends to the right around a large lake that extends from the tees past the landing area. Grassy hollows are positioned to the left of the landing area at the base of the slope that turns the hole. A well-placed tee shot allow reaching the green in two, providing the two deep greenside bunkers on the left are successfully negotiated. The second landing area is to the right of the green and is divided into two levels. Bunkers at the foot of the upper level challenge the player who cannot reach the green in two. Flying these bunkers affords the best angle to pitch to the green. Missed approach shots to this large green may be rewarded by putts of as much as 100 feet. Hole #3 Par: 4  |  Handicap: 7/7 397 361 337 311 311 246 HOLE DESCRIPTION: The relatively short length of this hole is deceiving in regards to its difficulty. The hole plays downhill between a grove of trees on the left and a huge oak tree on the right that rests in the bottom of a grassy hollow. A pair of bunkers on the left corner of the fairway indicate the ideal position to approach the green. The second shot is played across Twisted Creek to an elevated green that is abutted on the right by a maze of bunkers. The green has a series of levels which make it imperative that the approach shot be hit the proper distance. Hole #4 Par: 3  |  Handicap: 11/15 216 199 178 153 153 87 HOLE DESCRIPTION: After opportunities for birdies on the first three holes, the first Par 3 on the course is an early warning of the type of power golf that will be required later. The green, guarded on the left by two bunkers, opens from the right and is contoured so the bounce-in shot is a viable alternative, particularly with the prevailing summer wind quartering from the right. Hole #5 Par: 4  |  Handicap: 13/19 370 340 307 307 261 205 HOLE DESCRIPTION: Although there are three Par 4s under 400 yards on the front nine, the degree of strategic complexity increases with each hole. The combination of contouring and pin placements will influence the decision off the tee. The bunker that pinches the fairway on the right will tempt the bold player. Carrying this bunker gains an easier shot to the green, especially when the pin is back left behind a large nose that protrudes into the green. Pins set to the right will at times be more accessible from the left side of the fairway. The green is very small and bunkered on the front right and back left. The risk off the tee is severe with excellent advantages to be gained. This will be an exciting hole. Hole #6 Par: 5  |  Handicap: 1/1 606 567 538 466 466 359 HOLE DESCRIPTION: The longest Par 5 on the course is a double dogleg angling slightly to the right and then back sharply to the left across Twisted Creek. A tee shot close to the fairway bunker on the left offers the greatest options for the second shot. The large oak tree on the creek short of the second landing area in line with the green will determine the option. An aggressive shot through the opening left of the tree will leave an easy pitch to the slightly elevated green. Choosing to lay up, right of the tree alongside the creek will leave an approach shot ranging from 100 to 160 yards depending on the player’s courage. The shallow depth of the green, guarded on the right by two cavernous bunkers, favors shots played with the shortest iron possible. The back right pin is one of the most exciting on the course. Hole #7 Par: 3  |  Handicap: 17/17 162 141 122 122 100 100 HOLE DESCRIPTION: The shortest Par 3 on the course requires a precise shot to a green that rises some twelve feet above Twisted Creek on the right. The putting surface is small but bowl-shaped to contain approach shots that are struck within the limits of the collar. Bunkers protecting the right front of the green will prevent short approach shots from bounding down the slope into the water. Errant shots to the left will find grassy hollows, creating interesting recoveries to a green that slopes away. Hole #8 Par: 4  |  Handicap: 3/5 447 430 403 354 354 253 HOLE DESCRIPTION: This begins a stretch of holes where the degree of success hinges on how far and how well the player can hit the ball. In other words, the pressure starts here. The tee shot is played out of a group of trees to a generous landing area, framed on the left by a single bunker. The large green is fronted on both sides by bunkers and is rich in contour, providing some of the most interesting putting on the course. Hole #9 Par: 4  |  Handicap: 9/13 472 373 332 287 287 209 HOLE DESCRIPTION: A great way to finish the front side. The tee shot comes out of a tight shoot to an ample fairway protected on the right side by bunkers and a large native area on the left. The green, protected in the front by a large bunker, is one of the more difficult putting surfaces on the entire course. Par is always a solid score.  Hole #10 Par: 4  |  Handicap: 4/4 454 438 410 357 357 238 HOLE DESCRIPTION: This long Par 4 is unique in that it has no bunkers, nor does it need any. The tee shot plays across a small valley to a landing area bordered on the right by a grassy swale that runs across the fairway and ends at the left front of the green. The second shot is uphill to a green that is receptive to bounce-in shots but mostly from the right. A sub-par score on this stretch of holes will be a great feat indeed. Hole #11 Par: 5  |  Handicap: 12/10 535 521 486 486 461 366 HOLE DESCRIPTION: Elevated tees offer a spectacular view of the distant hills and the adjoining holes in the valley below. The landing area, some forty feet below the tees, is flanked on the right by three bunkers and bordered on the left by a slope dotted with large oaks. The fairway rolls over the slope, allowing shots played off of it an additional 10-15 yards of roll and possibly affording a shot at the green in two. The fairway narrows short of the second landing area at two cross bunkers diagonal to the right. These bunkers complicate the second shot. Playing close to the bunkers sets up the approach to the green, which opens from the right. Shots played to the left are faced with a pitch shot over a ridge to a green that is severely canted away from the collar. The high mounds behind the green will provide spectators with an excellent vantage point for the approach shots to this green and #15, as well as tee shots on #12, #13, and #16. Hole #12 Par: 3  |  Handicap: 16/16 233 179 155 155 133 106 HOLE DESCRIPTION: This nine consists of three Par 5s, three Par 4s, and three Par 3s. The first Par 3 requires a medium to long iron to a green fronted on the right by a large bunker. The green is divided by ridges and slopes in three different directions. Club selection is at a premium. The hole plays the exact opposite direction of Hole #4 so the two Par 3s of similar length will always play with different clubs. Hole #13 Par: 5  |  Handicap: 6/2 546 526 509 461 461 339 HOLE DESCRIPTION: This is a sweeping dogleg left around a large body of water that stretches from the landing area to the green. A lone target bunker 350 yards off the tee indicates the correct line. Another single bunker protrudes into the second landing area, forcing the decision to carry or lay-up. The tiny narrow green opens from the right and is set at an angle that rewards the aggressive second shot past the bunker. Three ominous deep bunkers separate the putting surface from the lake, while two large grassy hollows punish errant approach shots long and to the right. Hole #14 Par: 3  |  Handicap: 18/14 175 159 136 136 118 115 HOLE DESCRIPTION: The green, which is unusual in that it is twice as wide as it is deep, is protected in front by two bunkers and a knob that blocks the left quarter of the putting surface. A swale separates the two bunkers that extend into the middle of the green opposite a nose that protrudes from the back. Accuracy and club selection are absolutely critical and long putts will be treacherous. Hole #15 Par: 4  |  Handicap: 2/8 498 437 403 373 373 252 HOLE DESCRIPTION: From the tees, the player sees a fairway that winds its way through bunkers staggered in a right-left-right fashion. A shot played down the right side leaves a shorter approach shot to a slightly elevated green that is fronted on both sides by bunkers. The green is somewhat bowl-shaped to provide a receptive target for long iron shots aimed at the pin. Because of its length and direction into the prevailing summer wind, this may be the most difficult Par 4 on the course. Hole #16 Par: 4  |  Handicap: 8/12 472 406 366 327 327 241 HOLE DESCRIPTION: This is another demanding Par 4, turning slightly to the left along the tree line and then playing gently uphill into an amphitheater framed on the right by stately pines and on the left by giant hardwoods along the creek. A drive down the right side of the fairway offers the best angle of approach to the green, perched some twelve to fifteen feet above the creek. A pair of bunkers benched into the slope guard the left side of the green. Although recovery from the left is possible, the intimidating drop off may produce cautious shots to the right. Grassy hollows are positioned there to harass the timid. A deft touch to a gently sloping green will be required to save par. The amphitheater setting provides wonderful viewing and will be a gallery favorite during tournaments. Hole #17 Par: 3  |  Handicap: 14/18 206 173 146 146 120 115 HOLE DESCRIPTION: The longest Par 3 on the course is played out of a shoot of trees to a plateaued green that falls off on the left into deep grassy hollows. The tees offer a nice view through the trees of Chickamauga Creek, which runs parallel to the hole but does not come into play. The oval green is open in front with shallow containment areas surrounding the right side which provides some delicate recovery shots. Hole #18 Par: 5  |  Handicap: 10/6 522 503 484 484 446 389 HOLE DESCRIPTION: The finishing hole is a classic Par 5 swing hole because the second shot is dangerous though reachable. The elevated tees provide a wonderful view of the entire hole as it lays in a natural opening, bordered by the tree-lined creek on the left and a slope full of mature oaks on the right. Playing down the left side of the fairway close to the two bunkers will give the ambitious player a clear shot at the green. Second shots from the right side need to be shaped around or over tree limbs that are overhanging the fairway short of the green. Bunkers are peppered along the left side of the second landing area and the green, and one in particular jutting out to guard the left front. A bump in the middle of the green divides the putting surface into four sections, making long putts very exacting. The chance for birdie or perhaps eagle will provide great excitement, especially during the finish of a tournament.
